Save Water By Washing Your Car…With A Waterless Wash
Its official – “Florida is in the middle of one of the worst droughts ever recordedâ€, according to the South Florida Water Management District website. After years of below average rainfall and a very dry winter, Florida’s natural water sources are at record low levels. Florida water management agencies have been forced to institute water restrictions in all of Southeast Florida, including limited irrigation of lawns and, of course, car washing.
Florida is not alone. In many dry areas, such as Arizona, Las Vegas, and many coastal communities, water restrictions are common. Yet, we know there are a lot of auto enthusiasts in these areas – we ship them packages everyday! How do avid detailers keep their vehicles looking great during dry times? Waterless washes.
Waterless washes are products packed with lubricants to allow you to safely clean your vehicle without soap and water. A rinseless wash is another term for a product that dilutes in a small amount of water (about a gallon) and does not require rinsing. Waterless or rinseless washing does not entirely replace the bucket-and-hose method but it does supplement your regular washes, which are presumably less frequent when water is in short supply. A waterless or rinseless wash will remove light contamination, fresh bugs and bird droppings, and dust to keep your vehicle looking good until you can give it a traditional wash. Even if you’re not in a water-restricted area, waterless and rinseless washes are an excellent option to safely clean your vehicle between washes.
