Joel Simkhai, creator of Grindr, speaks about “Project Amicus,” his brand new buddy finding device
Joel Simkai, a slender, young faced guy, is consuming granola and yogurt once I meet him for coffee. He’s the creator of Grindr, a location based application that allows homosexual males to “connect to guys in (their) area” and “browse males.” Since its launch, Grindr has exploded to 2 million users and gained a reputation as one thing of a hookup widget for the homosexual community. (The application includes a easy program that shows pictures associated with closest 100 users at any one time, and lets you talk and trade pictures together with them.)
