“Hi Autogeek,

I drive a Ford Escape and there is a lot of vinyl exterior trim. Will Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant leave a white residue on the vinyl?

Thanks for your help!

Brian”

Hi Brian,

Exterior trim pieces on many vehicles are very susceptible to staining and discoloration and should be protected with quality protectant made for protecting rubber & vinyl and use the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant on paint.

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant is an easy to apply paint sealant that is totally safe for clearcoats, paints, enamel, fiberglass, tile or any non-porous surface but it isn’t designed for use on porous surfaces such as rubber and vinyl trim and moldings.

For trim pieces you can use a product such as 303 Aerospace Protectant to protect and beautify the exterior trim. Apply the protectant to the trim before you wax your vehicle to provide a barrier that will help prevent your wax or sealant from getting into the pores of the trim and causing stains and discoloration.
